Dhikala is located near Ramanagr and is an easy gateway to the various parts of the park, offers a panoramic view of the valley with the Kanda ridge in the backdrop. The old Forest Rest House at Dhikala is a historic structure, built over a hundred years ago.
Jhirna Forest lodge is situated Ramnagar ot Kalagarh road. Khara/Kalagarh is the main entry gate of this zone. This is the southern part of Jim Corbett Park. Before Tiger project relocation until 1994, Jhirna zone was an agricultural village.
Gairal is located on the banks of River Ramganga in dhikala zone. Tourists staying here can experience a fast flowing mountain river running through the scenic forests, ideal for nature and wildlife viewing.

Dhikala Canter safari in Corbett is the best way to explore the Dhikala forest when you are staying outside the Corbett tiger reserve, touring by gypsy is not permitted in Dhikala zone during day time.
In a recent Uttarakhand High Court order elephant safari & commercial activities using elephants in the state has banned till further order.
Dhikala remain open during15th November to 31st May ( extended upto15th June), and closed during the monsoon season between 16 June till 14 November.
Visitors are not allowed to use their own vehicles inside the park. They can move about in registered vehicles inside the park confines after making entries at the respective gates. You cannot get down from the vehicles while enjoying jeep safari.
Visitors must pre-book jungle jeep safaris in the Phato zone at the entry gate, and the reservations are confirmed only two days before to the safari date. 50 Jeeps in morning slot & 50 Jeeps In evening slot only allowed in one day.
Smoking or drinking liquor is prohibited inside the park. Do not litter during safari. No fire arms to be carried inside park. Do not feed animals during safari. Not permitted to use flash photography during safari.
Main Visiting Season Jim Corbett National Park Winter (October - February) It is the best time for Bird watching. Bird lovers are advised to visit during the winter season to get glimpses of varieties of birds. It is also the preferred season for tiger sighting.
