Phato Zone is located at a distance of appx 16 KM from Ramnagar.

Fato Zone/Phato Zone is the tenth tourism zone to be operated from Ramnagar. With the opening of this gate, apart from Corbett national park and Sitabani tiger reserve another jungle safari has become an option for the tourists. Its entrance has been made in Mohan Nagar Gujar Jhala of Maldhan, just 23 km away from Ramnagar. Here tourist will be able to do exciting safaris within 18 kilometres of the forest. 100 jeeps can go in a day at Fato Gate. 50 jeeps will go in the morning and only 50 jeeps in the afternoon. Everything is new in this zone New ways, range new, treehouse new, site scene new, elephant herb etc. The government has just opened only for Jungle Safari in Fato Gate. Right now there will be day safari in this zone. But in future it will be very special in terms of night stay. Here tourists will be able to enjoy staying in the tree house. At present, five tree houses have been completed. There are two rooms in a tree house, in which five to six tourists can easily stay. That is, the arrangement for the stay of 30 tourists in one night. If you stay in rooms made of wood on a tall tree, you will find yourself in the lap of the tree..

Dhikala Canter safari in Corbett is the best way to explore the Dhikala forest when you are staying outside the Corbett tiger reserve, touring by gypsy is not permitted in Dhikala zone during day time.

In a recent Uttarakhand High Court order elephant safari & commercial activities using elephants in the state has banned till further order.

Dhikala remain open during15th November to 31st May ( extended upto15th June), and closed during the monsoon season between 16 June till 14 November.

Visitors are not allowed to use their own vehicles inside the park. They can move about in registered vehicles inside the park confines after making entries at the respective gates. You cannot get down from the vehicles while enjoying jeep safari.

Visitors must pre-book jungle jeep safaris in the Phato zone at the entry gate, and the reservations are confirmed only two days before to the safari date. 50 Jeeps in morning slot & 50 Jeeps In evening slot only allowed in one day.

Smoking or drinking liquor is prohibited inside the park. Do not litter during safari. No fire arms to be carried inside park. Do not feed animals during safari. Not permitted to use flash photography during safari.

Main Visiting Season Jim Corbett National Park Winter (October - February) It is the best time for Bird watching. Bird lovers are advised to visit during the winter season to get glimpses of varieties of birds. It is also the preferred season for tiger sighting.
